How is Atwood RV Water Heater Element Normally Replaced

Question:

SO I need to replace the electric element on my heater. I have access to the back of the heater through the cabinets inside. I know you mentioned before that the heater must be pulled, is that the case if I can get to it through the cabinets? Am I missing something here?

On your model Atwood Water Heater GC6AA-10E, the electric heating element, like # CAM02103, is located in the water tank in the back side of the water heater. The heater will have to be pull out of the RV to replace the unit. I wish there was an easy way to do this in all applications but that's not always possible.

Atwood recommends having an RV repair shop do the repair because of the intensive labor involved in replacing the element.
