Adapter Needed to Install Transmission Cooler on a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 6.2L V8 Engine
Question:
I have a 2014 GMC Sierra Denali 1500 2WD with the 6.2L engine and just recently bought the Derale 8000 transmission cooler and wanted to make sure if I will need any additional connectors or adapters to install the transmission cooler? Id like to have all parts available before tearing my truck apart. My transmission lines go through the lower drivers side of the radiator then out the top drivers side of the radiator and then into the AC condensor on the drivers side. It then comes out on the top of the passengers side and then back to the transmission.

In order to install the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13504 on your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 6.2L V8 engine you are more than likely going to need the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM part # D13035. Unfortunately, we have not yet installed a transmission cooler on this vehicle therefore I would not have exact advice on whether or not this fitting is needed but I will say we have had a few customers with similar trucks say it was.
I would err on the side of caution and purchase it as it can always be returned if not needed.
