How to Install Load Resistors

Question:

How to hook up resisters on an Airstream travel trailer with led lights. They only omit .1 ohm. The controller needs minimum of 1 ohm.

I have added a diagram for you which details how to install the Putco LED Light Bulb Load-Resistors # DI34ZR.

The LEDs will have one power wire and one ground wire; all you need to do is tap one end of the load resistor into the power wire and the other end will either ground to the trailer or the ground wire from the bulb.

I've changed all tail lights to LED, and to switch the third brake light assembly to LED I need to wire in a resistor or leave the incandescent bulbs. All LED's cause the ABS to malfunction, as well as possibly the trans shifting. Will this kit fix the issue, and how will it wire in to the third brake light assembly on my 1996 F250?

The Putco LED Light Bulb Load-Resistors # P230004A-2 basically make your LED lights look like incandescent lights to an electrical system. These simply install in-line with your wiring. I'm not sure if this will help the OEM wiring on your '96 F-250 as we typically use these for trailer wiring applications when the truck doesn't recognize that a trailer is connected.
