How Does Non-Wishbone Style Trailer Connector Wire to Trailer that Had Wishbone 4-Way

Question:

Hi I have a wishbone trailer for my boat that has a problem with my running lights, I was blowing the trailer fuse on my truck every time I hooked up so I replaced the fuse and hooked up to a neighbors boat...no problem so that let me know my problem was with the trailer wires. I decided to rewire the trailer and tried to wire it the same way it originally was. The new harness I purchased had 4 wires green, white, brown, yellow the old harness had 6 wires 3 white, brown, yellow, green so I added a brown and 2 white wires to match. After installing the wire into the trailer all the side markers and rear lights had a white wire to it along with the brown and directional green and yellow wire, plug it to my adapter and still no running lights although Im not blowing fuses. I Just bought another new harness with 1 white, 2 brown, 1 green, and 1 yellow to rewire it again but before I do I want to know if the new harness will need to add 2 additional white wires or will I just need to hook up just the brown wire to my lights to work?

You'll need to take off of the white wires on your trailer wiring and run it to the single white wire of the new 4-way as well as all of the brown wires to brown wire of the new 4-way. That would be the proper way to run wishbone style circuits of a trailer to a non-wishbone style connector.
