Roof Rack Needed for Cap/Camper on a Ford Ranger

Question:

How do I size my camper for the right ladder rack. I have a Ford Ranger with a six foot bed and would like to know what is the right size horizontally and also front to rear for my situation. Looking to carry ladder during work week.

Are you looking for an adjustable ladder rack or one that you install in a specific spot permanently? Either way it actually is a custom fit that the customer gets to pick where they would like everything to sit. Typically you will see the legs of the roof rack near the corners of the truck cap/camper, but it can vary depending on the application.

For the 6' bed on your Ford Ranger I recommend the Thule TracRac CapRac Ladder Rack # TH29200XT which includes 65" long crossbars.

The weight limit of this rack will be the same as the weight rating of your cap/camper. Just be sure that the 65" bars don't stick out further than the side mirrors on your Ranger.
