Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller Installation and Operation Connected to 2014 Ram 1500
Question:
I transferred my p2 to a dodge 2014 ram 1500 and use the cable 3023 p. It worked fine in the other dodge. Now all I get is two red dots on controller, I have not connected the new truck to trailer. In old dodge numbers would be on display without trailer being attached. Did I do something wrong?

The Tekonsha P2 # 90885 will use the cable # 3023-P you mentioned. You can see that without a trailer connected, you should get the blinking NC for no trailer connected and then just get the dots as you mentioned at the 7:39 mark on the attached video. This is the correct functioning of your brake controller. It soundsl like your old truck had some corrosion or something on the trailer brake controller output pin so that numbers would show even when you weren't connected because the unit was sensing a trailer connection.
I've attached the owners manual to further assist.
