Recommended 13 Tire and Wheel Replacement for a ST205/75-14 Tire with 5 Bolt Pattern Wheel
Question:
I am looking to change my boat trailer tyre from a ST205/75/R14 5 stud to a 13inch rim to give me a lower ride and launching height. My current rims are also expensive mags and I want to take them off anyway to avoid theft. What size 13inch rim and tyre combo can I use? Was hoping to get something like a 195/75/R13 on a 5inch wide rim as we have a lot of standard 13inch by 5inch wide galv rims here off the shelf.

The only thing that could potentially hinder you from swapping to a smaller tire size is the weight rating as smaller tires typically have lower weight ratings.
For your application I recommend going with the Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire with 13" Galvanized Wheel # AM31994. The wheel has a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern but it is only 4-1/2" wide. The tire itself has a load range D (1,610 lbs at 65 psi) and a speed rating of 81 mph.
If you are wanting a 5" wide wheel then we have the aluminum tire/wheel combo # AM32001HWTB. This combo uses the same Karrier tire that is on the galvanized wheel that I mentioned above so they have the same weight and speed ratings.
We do have the Wheel Lock Set # RG01-150 that you can add to any of these wheels to deter theft.
