Availability of and Installation of Class III Receiver Hitch for 2011 Lincoln Town Car
Question:
I recently purchased a new 2011 Lincoln Town Car WITH DUAL EXHAUST and want to install a class III receiver hitch. I want it to be as hidden as possible for appearance. Please quote me the part numbers for the following parts that will work on my 2011 Town Car: Receiver Super extra long ball mount Trailer wire harness In the description it says that the exhaust needs to be modified. What are the modifications? Are there special tools or equipment required that would prevent a competent DIYer who has installed hitches before from doing it?

There are 2 Class III receiver hitches available for your 2011 Town Car, the Draw-Tite Class III, part # 41116 and the Curt Class III, part # 13707. Both Hitches will work great for you.
Luckily enough, on your particular vehicle, the vast majority of the cross bar will be hidden behind the rear bumper structure, with a very small amount of the bottom of the cross bar and the receiver opening visible below the bumper.
Town Car models with the dual exhaust will require the removal and relocation of one of the exhaust hangers. The procedure for doing this is outlined in the installation instructions, which I will link you to.
The correct wiring harness for your vehicle is part # C59236. I have provided a link to the install instructions as well as an install video showing the harness being installed on a 2009 Lincoln Town Car. The procedure would be pretty similar to that of your vehicle.
As far as tools go, other than a torque wrench and drill, nothing out of the ordinary will be needed to install the hitch.
