Changing Mounting Direction of Electric Jack so Tailgate Won't Make Contact
Question:
Can the head of the jack be rotated 90 degrees on the shaft. My tailgate is hitting the buttons and wont go down all the way. Looks like a couple of set screws on the side.

The Lippert Electric Trailer Jack with Footplate # LC285318 has been modified by some customers to do just what you stated, but according to my contact at Lippert it will void the warranty.
Another options that will allow you to rotate the head to the side without voiding your warranty is by rotating the jack at the mounting holes where it bolts to the coupler. Rotating the jack mounting position will not cause any issue other than the LED light facing in a different direction but that won't be a 90 degree rotation. It still however should give you the clearance you are seeking.
