For your 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. I really like this controller because of its easy-to-read LCD display that doesn't require any code-deciphering like on other controllers and its 5 storable settings that allow for easy transition between different trailers or drivers. This is an excellent, proportional controller that will activate the trailer brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your truck. This unit is well known for both its reliability and ease of use.

To install the brake controller on your Sierra all you will need is the Plug-In Adapter # 3016. One end of this harness will plug into the brake controller itself and the other end will connect to the factory port beneath the dash of your truck.
