Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring When Plugged In Reverse Lights on Trailer Come On

When I plug in truck camper and turn on truck lights the backup lights come on

That means you have a short between the reverse light circuit of your trailer wiring and the running light circuit. On a 7-way the pin locations for these circuits are 1:00 for the running light (on the vehicle side) and center pin for the reverse light circuit. Check over the connectors and wiring looking for any loose wiring or corrosion and fix as needed.
