Most trunk-mount bike carriers are limited to 35-lbs per bike, including even the outstanding Thule Gateway Pro 2 Bike Rack trunk rack # TH88VR. Even some of the heavier-duty hitch-mount types cannot handle the weight of an electric bike, some of which can be as heavy as 70 to 80 lbs when the battery is installed.

The best solution is to install a trailer hitch and hitch rack on the Continental that will spare the car's painted finish from the potential damage that can occur with trunk racks that rest on the trunk. A hitch rack instead puts the rack and bike weight load on the car's frame, its strongest part.

The hitch I suggest for your Lincoln is the Curt Class II hitch # C12182 which has a 1-1/4-inch
receiver opening. In this hitch you can then use the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo 1-bike carrier # RKY10007. The Solo can handle an e-bike of up to 60-lbs and it secures the bike by the front wheel as shown in the linked video. This rack will work great for a bike without a front fender.

If you prefer a 2-bike rack, or if you need one that secures the bike at its frame rather than at the front tire, then you might consider the Thule EasyFold XT platform rack # TH903202 that holds 2 bikes of up to 65-lbs each.
