How Does Convert-A-Ball Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter Cushion The Ride?

Question:

I have a convert a ball fifthwheel adapter and I assume with a cushion, but I can look down from the top and see nothing but a big nut approximately one and a quarter inch in diameter . Should I be seeing some kind of cushion? Or nothing at all

The Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G has two interior polyurethane bushings that act as a shock absorbers and cushion the ride. From the top you will only see the nut and washer you mentioned. However, from the bottom you should be able to seen a little bit of the lower polyurethane bushing.

I reached out to the manufacturer and have attached a photo of the cutaway of the # CG which uses the same two polyurethane bushings to cushion the ride as the # CAB-C5G and the # CAB-C5GX1216.
