How to Fit Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch to 2018 Ford F-350 Short Bed with Rail Kit

Question:

I had a 2012 F250 short bed, had the BandW gooseneck and companion 5th wheel hitch. I sold the 2012 and kept the Companion hitch with the square that locked in the gooseneck hitch. My new F350 shorted has the factory puck system and a round gooseneck hole. Mt 40foot Montana pulled great behind my 2012, but now Im trying to figure out how to use my Companion 5th wheel hitch in my new teuck. If I didnt have clearance issues with the 2012, why would I have issues with my 2018? Wouldnt a different base cure my issue? Didnt need a slider in the 2012, it was a fixed base. Cant I do the same with the new 2018?

Helpful Expert Reply:

What you can do is use the Companion hitch slider part # BWRVB3370 with your current Companion hitch head and you'll have a slider Companion hitch that fits directly to the factory Ford rail kit of your 2018 Ford F-350 short bed. There isn't a way to install the base you currently have to the Ford gooseneck hitch.
