Adapter for Roadmaster Base Plates to use Blue Ox Rangefinder Tow Bar BX4322

Question:

Thanks Kyle for your prompt response. My Jeep is a CJ3A, 1952 with standard flat bumper. On BX4322 installation instruction, figure 1 shows attachment tabs similar to BX88230. Figure #2 shows how to adapt attachment tabs (drilling holes). Am I ok to follow this procedure with BC88230 and install Rangfinder? Best regards,

I spoke with a representative of Blue Ox who told me the Blue Ox Rangefinder tow bar BX4322 is NOT compatible with the Blue Ox Bolt-On Base Plate Bracket Kit # BX88230.

Although you did not say what year your Jeep was it may have base plates available from Roadmaster and if it does and they use the XL, EZ, EZ2, or EZ4 Series brackets you can still use your Rangefinder with the Blue Ox Rangefinder II or III Tow Bar to Roadmaster Base Plates Adapters # RM-037.

If you let me know what year your Jeep is I'd be happy to try and find base plates that will work for you.

I do not recommend drilling holes into the Blue Ox Bolt-On Base Plate Bracket Kit # BX88230 to flat tow your 1952 Jeep CJ-3A because it may compromise the integrity of the base plates and could be dangerous. Your best option to tow with Bracket Kit # BX88230 is to use a different tow bar and a great option I recommend is the Blue Ox Adventurer Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms # BX7322.
