How Does Brake Controller Install in 2008 Dodge Ram with Factory 7-Way

Question:

Color code from Ram to the brake controller. Wiring harness from brake controller is not the same as it is from the truck, the truck has a factory wiring for the controller.

The best and easiest way to install a Prodigy P3 brake controller part # 90195 in your 2008 Dodge Ram is to use a custom install harness designed for the vehicle like the part # 3020-P which plugs in under the dash of the vehicle.

I attached a picture of the connector you would be looking for to plug into. Here's how to wire directly though too.

New Dodge (Green Wire)
White with Red Tracer = +12 Volt Power
Blue with White Tracer = Stop Light
Green with Black Tracer = Ground
Blue = Trailer Brakes

Old Dodge
Red with Black Tracer = +12 Volt Power
White with Tan Tracer = Stop Light
Black = Ground
Blue = Trailer Brakes
