Recommended Bike Rack for a Toyota Tacoma and Casita Travel Travel
Question:
Hey thanks, so I think after really thinking about it, I need to return. Not having it cold up or having the tailgate drop is an issue. Can you recommend a good roof rack carrier where I don’t have to remove a tire and is stable? Also I am looking for something very weatherproof, as my Rocky Mount I had rusted so bad. I have older yakima round bars on the back of my tacoma, mounted to a cap that I bought

When we tested the Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Platform Rack part # S44FR on the back of a 2016 Toyota Tacoma, the tailgate was not able to be let down fully with the arms folded down. However, when we tested the Swagman Dispatch 2 on the back of a 2015 Toyota Tacoma, the tailgate was able to be let down fully with the arms folded down. Therefore, since you already have the bike rack you may just want to do a quick test fit.
Unfortunately, you can't use a folding bike rack because they are not rated for use on trailers due to the added stress on the shank. With that being said, I looked at all of the other bike racks we have that will work with both your Tacoma and Casita Travel Travel, the Swagman Dispatch 2 looks to be the correct choice.
