Troubleshooting No Green Light on the Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller # 39510
Question:
I have installed new electric brakes on my boat trailer. Truck came with Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller # 39510. I have tested all wiring to and from unit including a good signal from the brake switch. Good 12 volts going to unit, but i also have 12 volts coming through blue wire without doing anything to the unit. No red or green light on. The only time I can get the green light to go on is when I ground the blue wire. Is the unit bad? Or is it a ground problem?

Are you seeing no light when you have your trailer connected? The green light should be coming on if the Voyager # 39510 senses a trailer is connected to the 7-Way on the tow vehicle.
If your trailer is connected to your tow vehicle but the green light isn't coming on then you have a loose power or ground connection so you will want to inspect your tow vehicle/trailer connector and any wiring for those circuits. If this didn't start happening until you installed the new brakes on your trailer then it could be that the ground connections for your brakes are not connected to a clean, bare-metal surface.
Let me know if you still need help troubleshooting after checking these things.
