Question:
In Minnesota, what type connectors would you recommend? I’ve see silicone filled wire nuts.

It appears you are looking at the Pollak Metal 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Socket - Vehicle End # PK12703 and want to determine the best connectors. If you will be wiring directly to the connector, there are the proper connection points on the 7-way so I recommend simply adding dielectric grease # 11755. This grease does not work as a conductor of electrical current, but rather keeps moisture and debris out of the connection to preserve the materials and reduce corrosion.
If you will be using connectors to splice wires, then I recommend the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector - 12-10 Gauge - Nylon Insulation - Yellow - Qty 10 # DW05745-10. This will allow you to have a clean connection between wires and also allow you to protect the wire at the connection locations from moisture and debris by utilizing the heat shrink material to reinforce the connection. I've attached a video to assist.
