Recommended Trailer Wiring Upgrade to 7-Way with Electric Brake Controller on 2016 Kia Sorento EX
Question:
Hi there, My 2016 Sorento EX came with the towing package installed, I have a class 3 hitch and a 4 pole wiring harness. Is there a way to connect up a 7pin harness to activate trailer breaks and power? thanks!

For your 2016 Kia Sorento EX, I recommend you use the # ETBC7 Kit to upgrade your 4-way wiring to a 7-way connector and add the power and electric brake functions. You will also need a brake controller to add the electric brake function, so I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This controller uses a LCD screen that takes code deciphering out of the equation. It is a simple to use controller that gives you diagnostic information and even troubleshooting help should you ever need it. I've attached some videos to further assist.
