How to Measure to Determine Fit of Lippert Bolt-On Shock Kit LC281281

Question:

Hi I have a 2016 PrimeTime Crusader 5th Wheel Model 370BHQ, and would like to know if the Lippert Bolt-On Shock kit will fit? My concern is that the trailer has slides w/ drive bars about 1.75inch away from the I beam frame, and about 12inch above the U bolt plate 7inch above the bottom lip of the I beam. Im attaching a picture to show what Im talking about. Do you have anyway of knowing if this shock kit will fit my trailer or not? I appreciate your help

The Lippert Bolt-On Heavy-Duty Shocks # LC281281 for 3-inch axles need to be mounted close to a 45-degree angle and pointing outwards (away from the equalizer/shackle) to work correctly. The shock measures 13-1/2-inches overall when not compressed so what you can do is check the space from the tie plates on the spring stacks (which get replaced with parts from the kit) up to the I-beam where the top bracket needs to mount to ensure you have room for the length of the shock without interference with the slide mechanism.

If you refer to the arrow that I added to your photo you'll see the general area and position where the shock needs to mount. This of course needs to be measured on both sides of the suspension.
I also linked diagrams from the Lippert instructions.

Based on what I can see in your photo it appears you should not have a problem installing the kit.
