Comparing the Curt Q25 and B&W Companion Hitches for 5th Wheel Towin a Sunnybrook Trailer

Question:

I had a 2006 chevy 3500 DWD long box with a BandW turnover ball companion hitch which I still have, My newer 2016 3500, DWD truck has a Curt Q25 on the GMC factory rails,. I have a Sunny Brook 28 foot fifth wheel, did not notice the bucking, or chucking in the 06 with the BandW . Im wondering if the BandW hitch is tighter and absorbs the shock better than the curt, do not really want to Chang the pin box. Thoughts on the 2 different hitches!

It is very interesting that you are experiencing chucking and jarring while using the Curt Q25 # C16069 with your 2016 GMC Sierra 3500. This is actually a really nice 5th wheel hitch and has received great reviews from our customers. The only things that I can really think of is that the built-in cushioning may be wearing down or that the jaws aren't completely closing so I would start by checking those out. If you have a cushioned pin box it could be counteracting the cushioning on the Q25 as well but if you have a standard pin box this shouldn't be happening.

Both the Curt Q25 and your B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 have dual jaws that when fully closed provide 360 degrees of contact around the king pin to greatly reduce that chucking and jarring. If you would rather use the Companion instead we actually carry the base unit # BWRVB3700 which is compatible with both the OEM pucks on your Sierra and the head unit you currently have on your Companion.
