Do you need to be straight on to hook/unhook?

Yes, when you go to hook or unhook from a fifth wheel trailer using the Demco Hijacker Autoslide hitch like the part # DM8550040 you have to be almost perfeclty straight otherwise it won't work. This is because the auto slide mechanism activates when the head is turned.
