What Color Wires are for Which Functions on a Trailer 7-Way Connector

Question:

My harness has White, Green, Brown, Black, Yellow and Red wires only. It has a 6 terminals on the back of plug and 1 center terminal. I can not find any diagrams with this color combo, any suggestions on how to wire? Thanks so much,

It sounds like you actually have a 7-Way connector on your trailer. Typically white would be ground, green would be right turn/stop, brown would be tail/running lights, black would be 12V power. yellow would be left turn/stop, and red would be reverse lights or a brake controller output. Since these are just typical wiring colors and nothing is set in stone though you will need to test your wires and connect them per function.

To do this you will need to take a 12V battery and use the positive terminal to test each wire after grounding the negative terminal.

I have attached a diagram showing you where these functions are connected to on a 7-Way connector like part # PK12706.
