Should 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed Use Slider or Fixed Hitch

Question:

My vehicle: 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with 6 1/2 ft. bed. Trailer is Keystone Hideout 299RLDS. Want to purchase Reese p/n RP30047 fifth wheel hitch and RP 30035 rail kit. Question is if I find I need a slider, can I add p/n RP 30048 to RP30047.

You will need a slider hitch since your truck has a short bed. Slider hitches are designed to allow short bed trucks like yours to have the needed turning clearance to make tight turns without cab interference. So for your 2004 Chevy Silverado short bed you'd want the Reese Slider Hitch part # RP30051 with the rail kit part # RP30035 and you'd be set.
