Availability of Hallow Shank Adapter for 2 Shank on Bike Rack to 1-1/4 Receiver on Vehicle
Question:
I have a bike rack that holds 2 bikes made for use in a 2 inch receiver. Im hoping to find an adapter so I can use this rack on my new Honda CRV with a class 1 receiver. I want to use the 63147 locking anti-rattle pin. Is there an adapter that has a hollow 1 1/4 inch end?

Expert Reply:
Since you are needing a hitch adapter that expands the hitch receiver they will all have a solid shank. This is to help with the weight rating.
I recommend using the Hitch Adapter # HTAD along with the lock # e98879 and the Quiet Hitch # RM-061-125 to help reduce any movement.
Please note that this adapter will reduce the weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50%. You also need to check your bike rack to ensure that it is compatible with an adapter as some bike racks that don't have the availability of an adapter sleeve are not rated for use with an adapter.
