Is Trailer Wiring Bracket of Draw Tite Hitch for 2018 Mazda CX-9 Visible

Question:

Hello, Looking for a hitch for a 2018 Mazda CX9. Was planning on leaving the flat 4 wiring in the cargo area and closing the wires in the hatch the few times a year I use it. This way the wiring connector stays clean and away from winter salt. Is the Integrated mounting point lets you attach a bracket for a 4-way or 7-way plug sold separately visible if left unused? It appears welded on and hence not removable.

The bracket on the Draw Tite hitch part # 76020 is welded to the hitch and would not be removable. If you really wanted to remove it I am sure you could, but I would avoid cutting on the crosstube of the hitch and stick to just the bracket only. You'll want to paint over the exposed metal too. If you check out the picture I attached though you'll see that it's not really visible so leaving it alone might be fine too.
