Can Trailer Breakaway Switch be Used as Parking Brake

hi sir, 1. Can this work as parking brake while trailer in stationary/operation? 2. If yes, how long it will hold ?

I do not recommend using a breakaway switch like the Hopkins Engager # 20099 that you referenced as a parking brake to hold the trailer in place. When pulling the pin out of the switch full 12V power will be sent to the trailer brakes and it won't release them until the pin is re-inserted or the battery dies. Locking the brakes up like this for longer periods of time may actually cause damage to the assemblies themselves.

A better option to keep your trailer in place when it's parked is with wheel chocks like the FloTool # FT11930MI. I have attached a link that will take you to our available selection of wheel chocks that you can also look through.
