Is Splicing Into Reverse Lights Necessary if Trailer Does Not Have Reverse Lights

Question:

Will it create a problem to not splice into the reverse light circuit? None of my trailers have reverse lights, and I don’t want to splice into a factory wire if I don’t absolutely have to.

If you are adding the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter - 7 Way Trailer Connector # 22119 to your 2018 Toyota Highlander and your trailers do not have reverse lights then you do not need to splice into the reverse light circuit. Since it will not be used there would be no reason for you to have to splice into it.
