How to Wire the Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack Part # UF38-944017
Question:
Hi. Hoping to install my new a-frame jack today, which comes with an inline fuse that needs to be installed. The existing jack wiring has the black running to a junction box vs the battery itself. Given that, should I install the fuse close to that junction box or should I reroute to the battery directly? Thanks in advance for the help.

Expert Reply:
For starters, I recommend running both the power and ground wires of the Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack part # UF38-944017 directly to the battery and not the junction box. By running the jack to the junction box this creates another connection point that could cause issues later down the road. In regards to fuse placement, it will need to be placed 6" from the positive terminal on the battery regardless if you are using a junction box or not.
