The best way to install the Stromberg Carlson RV Exterior Ladder # LA-401 on an RV really depends on the situation. Since this is a universal fit ladder there isn't a specified way it has to install every time. You'd need to verify that your roof has an area that is designed for attaching a ladder to and be sure to attach to only that area. If you planned on using the included hardware you'd want to use a drill bit slightly smaller than the screws so that the teeth of the screw has something to grip on and only drill as far as you'd need.
