Recommended Pro Series 5th Wheel Hitch and Rails for 2018 Ram 2500 Short Bed

We do have a large selection of fifth-wheel hitches and rail kits that will work great on your 2018 Ram 2500 with the 6-1/2 foot bed, however the Pro Series 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Rails # PS30132 that you referenced won't be your best option. The main issue is that the included universal frame brackets are not compatible with the frame rails on your Ram 2500. If you were to get this kit you would need to also add the Custom Bracket Kit # RP58522 to use in place of the universal brackets. Another issue is that since you have a short bed truck, you will want to go with a sliding fifth-wheel hitch instead of a fixed model like the Pro Series 20K (unless your trailer is equipped with a Sidewinder/Revolution Pin Box). A fixed hitch like this one likely won't give you enough cab clearance when making tight turns with the trailer.

I instead recommend the Pro Series 20K Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch # PS30121 along with the Custom Rail Kit # RP50054-58. This setup will work perfectly on your truck as long as you don't have the Ramboxes and won't require any frame drilling when installing the brackets and rails. The sliding hitch has a 20,000 pound capacity and will provide you with 10 inches of slider travel for the needed cab clearance during sharp turns.
