Thule or Yakima Roof Basket Recommendation for 2015 Jeep Cherokee with Rhino-Rack Aero Bars

Hi there, We recently purchased a Rhino-Rack Aero Bar kit for our 2015 Jeep Cherokee. We love it. We are looking to add a cargo basket to it. Most likely a Thule or a Yakima. We live in NYC so we would like to mount the basket using the channels in the RRVA126B-2 since we have the locking end caps. My question is about the compatibility of the Thule T-Rack and Yakima T-Slot mounts with the channel in the RRVA126B-2. Thank you so much for your help,

If you are wanting to utilize the T-Slots on your Rhino-Rack Aero Bars # RRVA126B-2 then Thule is the way you want to go as the Yakima baskets, like the LoadWarrior # Y07070, just use clamps.

I recommend going with the Thule Canyon XT basket. This comes in a 49" length # TH859XT as well as a 69" length # TH859XT-8591XT and has a weight capacity of 150 lbs. Be mindful though that your Rhino-Rack bars have a weight capacity of 165 lbs. The shorter basket weighs 29 lbs while the larger basket weighs 39 lbs so you will be able to load up to either 136 lbs or 126 lbs of gear respectively.

Once you have the basket installed you will also want to add the lock cores # TH450400 so that the housing for the T-Bolts is locked. I have attached some review videos for you to check out as well.
