Trailer Hitch and Towing Components Needed for 2014 Ford Focus
Question:
I would like to rent a uhual trailer. They will install the hitch and other supplies needed for the job but all im towing is a dresser, a nightstand, a bike and a queen mattresses. This isnt a whole lot but its a cross country trek. Now I got this used from carvana and so it doesnt have the dealership warranty. What my main worry is if my car would make it because the website says it can tow anything under 2000 lbs.

The towing capacities of a vehicle are typically very conservatively figured so as long as you are staying under the capacity of your 2014 Ford Focus you'd be totally fine. For your 2014 Ford Focus the Curt hitch part # C11158 would be the hitch to go with. This fits sedans and hatchback models too. For trailer wiring you'd then want the part # 118549 for if you have a hatchback or part # 118548 for if you have a sedan. Tekonsha wiring kits are the most reliable so they are what we recommend the highest.
For a ball mount you'd want the part # 3593 and for hitch balls part # 19258 for a 2 inch ball or part # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball.
