Troubleshooting Trailer Brake Lights that Work Intermittently

Helllo I have a 2002 Chevy 3500 Duramax Silverado when I hook my trailer connector in trailer brake lites work but then go out I am very confused could this be a bad brake lite switch on truck brake lites work great on truck all the time have complete new trailer plug harness on truck and new brake controller

Since they work then stop working most likely you have dirty pins on your trailer connectors which is causing the connection to be intermittent. Since it's both sides of the trailer it's probably the ground circuit. Your generation of Chevy truck is notorious for the third brake light fuse going out. You might check under the hood to verify if that circuit is solid still.
