Kayak Carrier Compatibility with 17 Foot Sea Kayak System

Can I use this to transport a 17’ sea kayak at highway speeds? Wondering if there’s any limits on use. Thx

The Yakima EasyTop Universal Fit Roof Rack - Padded - 80 lbs # Y07418 has maximum load dimensions of 14' long x 3' wide according to the manufacturer, so they don't recommend it for a 17 foot sea kayak. The Malone Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs - Foam Block Style - 18" Long - 1 Kayak # MPG152 or the Rightline Gear Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs - Foam-Block-Style - Roof Mount - 12" Long # RL100K10 do not have a length requirement, but I recommend using a roof rack and more stable support for your kayak at highway speeds.

My recommendation for that size kayak is to add a roof rack and saddle style cradles for support. I've attached a link to assist. If you let me know your vehicle, I'd be happy to assist with a compatible roof rack as well.
