I had a hitch on our 2008 odyssey that was recently totaled. Could it be transferred to a 2018 odyssey?

No you cannot transfer a trailer hitch that was on your totaled 2008 Honda Odyssey to a 2018 Honda Odyssey. The integrity of the hitch could have been compromised and it could potentially be dangerous.
Instead you will need a new hitch and a great option is Trailer Hitch # E98855 which fits an '18 Odyssey and is a complete bolt-on installation that will not require you to drill into your new van's frame in order to install.
