Is Aluminum Ball Mount Compatible With Reese Sway-Control Bracket
Question:
Reese RP26003 and Brophy EA40 - Will the Reese sway control bracket fit the Brophy EA40 ball mount? I want to add a sway control to my cargo trailer and this seems a reasonable solution. Thanks in advance for your help.

Expert Reply:
I spoke with a representative of Brophy who said they do not recommend using the Brophy Ball Mount # EA40 with sway control due to the amount of stress it would put on the aluminum mount.
Instead you can use the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 2753 which like the Alumistinger fits 2" hitches, has a 4" drop and 3" rise along with a weight capacity of 7,500 lbs. It is compatible with the Reese Sway-Control Bracket for 2" Ball Mounts # RP26003 that works with Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660.
