Fastway Weight Distribution System Recommendation for 2015 Ram 1500
Question:
I dont own my own travel trailer but rent from time to time. Would this rig hit the sweet spot if I dont know right now what any of my exact tongue and trailer weights could be? I have the 2015 Ram 1500 5.7L gas and OEM hitch and according to the manufacturer a max tow GVWR of 8130. I imagine most of my rentals will be between 6500-max weight, with tongues in the 600-900 pound range. Id also be looking that in the future with a vehicle upgrade that has more towing capability I wouldnt have to invest in another system. Also, is there any advantage to the trunion vs swing bar style or vise versa? Thank you for your input.

Based on your truck's towing capacities and the weight range of the trailer you plan to tow the Fastway Weight Distribution System part # FA94-00-1000 that you referenced would be a great option. It has a tongue weight range of 600 to 1,000 lbs which would be right what you'd need.
The advantages of trunnion bars is mainly ground clearance. They just don't hang down quite as far. Trunnion bars can have higher capacities too. Typically you only see round bars on lighter weight ranges. The advantage to round bar really is only price. For the trunnion equivalent you'd want the part # FA92-00-1000.
