How to Determine Correct Replacement for Dexter Axles on Trailer

Question:

Bought a trailer with dexter dual axles 3500 each, and they were over loaded and bent, they are a 4 inch , but I want to put straight axles on instead, can I get the axles length by getting the dexter # from the axles and call you to see if they are the 89 inch or the 95 inch long axles ??? THANKS

You may not actually have to replace your axles. If they are bent up towards the floor of your trailer (see attached picture) then that is normal and they will level out as you add a load. If they are bent downwards towards the ground then they are definitely in need of a replacement.

We don't have access to all of Dexter's information so the Dexter Axle would need to be contacted themselves in regards to the part number, but if you have a tape measurer handy there are a few places you can measure on your current axles to determine what you would need!

To determine the correct replacement axle for your trailer you will need to know the hub face (A) and spring center (B) measurements. For example, the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam # T3584F-EZ-8974 has a hub face of 89" and a spring center of 74" which you can see in the attached picture. Let me know what you find and I can see if we have a replacement axle that fits your application.
