Trunk Mount and Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation For 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

Question:

Im looking for a 2-bike trunk mount for a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Ultimate No Rear Spoiler that wont break the bank. Id also like to still be able to open and use the trunk with the rack still attached, when bikes arent attached of course. In addition, Id also like to be able to lock the rack, so that no one will be able steal the trunk rack while its attached. Thanks!

So the best option for you might actually be a hitch mounted bike rack, but for a trunk rack the Saris Bones part # SA805BL is a great option. It's priced great and is an incredibly solid trunk rack. That said, you can't open your truck with any trunk rack installed. The hinges of the trunk aren't designed for the weight of the rack and the hooks may pinch the metal as the trunk opens damaging the vehicle. Also the rack would be very likely to slam down at any moment which could be dangerous. For a cable lock to lock the bikes to this rack the part # SA981 would work well.

Then for a lock to keep the rack on the vehicle the Thule Passive Lock part # TH533 would be a great option as well.

So since you want to be able to access the trunk you'd need to go the hitch route with a hitch like the # C11086 installed. Then the Thule Camber 2 part # TH9058 fits and works well on your vehicle.
