Is B&W Companion Best Option for Fifth Wheel

Question:

Hi, is there a reason why you dont carry the Andersen 3220 - Aluminum Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection 2 Gooseneck Mount? I just bought the BandW turnover ball hitch from you and installed it over the weekend. I was considering the Andersen as a good lightweight alternative to the BandW companion...which is really too heavy for me to get in and out of my truck by myself. I was just afraid that if its something you dont or no longer carry that I may want to avoid it? Thanks for any info.

Though I do not know the particulars as to why the Andersen 3220 is not something we carry, I can tell you that with your B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1111 the best option for a fifth wheel hitch is, by far, the B&W Companion # BWRVK3400-5W for the sliding version and # BWRVK3500-5W for the fixed version.

You are correct that it is heavy. It does come in two parts which make it more manageable, but it is still likely going to take two people to remove it from the bed of your truck. That would be the only point against it when it comes to which is a better option for a fifth wheel, the Companion or the Andersen.

The Companion is considered by many to be the highest-quality fifth wheel hitch available. With more than 400 reviews from our customers who have purchased it, this hitch has gotten a nearly unanimous 5-star rating. It features dual jaws which are a full 1" thick to provide complete contact with your king pin so you can have faith that your connection is completely secure. I've added a picture of the jaws so you can see for yourself how impressive they are. The Companion is also going to give you a much quieter ride with less rattling than other fifth wheels due to that secure connection, along with the polyurethane bushings it has.
