How to Tell if 7-Way Has Power for Curt Echo on a 2006 Jeep Wrangler
Question:
Im trying to pair the Curt echo brake controller, attached to my Jeep Wrangler 2006, but not having any success. Ive followed the instructions on one of your links, but still no success. Is there a way to verify that my 7pin is wired properly for this type of device. The 7 pin connector is working fine for the lights of the trailer when the trailer is plugged directly into the Jeep. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

If you are not sure that power is getting to the Curt Echo # C51180 try testing the pin in the 1 o'clock position of your 7-Way with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. You should be seeing constant power on that pin if it is working properly and the light on the top of the Echo should be flashing blue. If there is no light, then the Echo isn't getting power at the 7-Way.
Troubleshooting no 12V power to your 7-Way basically boils down to if you have an OEM connector then there may need to be a wire connected under the hood to the battery or a fuse needs to be replaced but if it is aftermarket then a wire for that pin may need to be run to the battery with a 40A circuit breaker # 9510 in-line.
Either way, if you are getting no power but you can see that wiring is ran from the 7-Way to your battery then the wiring itself is damaged and you will need to replace it or sections of it with 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1 or one of your fuses has blown. You can find fuse locations and functions in your owner's manual.
Let me know if you are still having issues and I can help you troubleshoot further.
