Trailer Hitch for a 2005 Toyota Highlander with a Japanese Bumper
Question:
I want to install the Draw-Tite #75153 on a 2005 Toyota Highlander 2WD V6. I am using the Japanese rear bumper that extends 2.5 inches lower and 2.5 inches further out than the U.S. fascia version. This means I need to clear about 6 inches down from the frame well to access the hitch receiver. Do you have any suggestions or advice??

Expert Reply:
The Draw-Tite Class III 2 Inch Hitch, part # 75153, will not work with your Japanese rear bumper configuration. The installed hitch receiver sits pretty tight under the US bumper. The Curt hitch # 13530 will be in the same location. You might want to look into having a hitch fabricated for you.
