Are all Trailer Tire Load Ranges Same Size

Question:

My 27’ tandem axle Lance travel trailer came from the factory equipped with ST205/75R14 Load Range C tires. The trailer GVWR is 6000 Lbs. Since much of my traveling takes me through the Southern California deserts where temperatures often exceed 100 F, I was thinking of replacing the tires with Load Range D tires as a possible added safety factor. Is there any dimensional difference between a load range C and D tire that could cause a problem? My wheels are located in somewhat of a wheel well where side clearance with a small fender could be an issue.

There is no dimension difference between Load Ranges for trailer tires of the same size. If you have clearance for a ST205/75R14 LR C you'd have the same clearance for a LR D.

In that size and range I really like the Westlake # 274-000012. It has a 75 mph speed rating and comes with 2 year roadside assistance program.

If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
