How Much Space Past the Sides of a Slide-Out is Needed to Install a Slide-Out Topper
Question:
The article states: 6inch Of clearance beyond the outside edges of the box is required to accommodate the overall length of the assembly Is this 3inch on each side, or 6inch on both ends

The 6 inches (roughly) is on both ends. So about 12 inches total. There is a little wiggle room if you don't quite have 6 inches when installing a slide-out topper such as # LCV000168105 but not much.
