Can the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150 be Used to Replace a Carrier 13,500 Watt AC Unit

Question:

I have a travel trailer that has a 2007 Carrier Air V 13,500 watt AC Air conditioner in it . I want to upgrade to a Advent 15000 Watt air conditioner with the carrier adapter kit the hard start and it be non ducted. Well I also have to change out my breaker box or fuses to make this thing work or can I just go with what I already have in fuses and Breakers its a 30 amp system run by a Northstar Honda 13000 W 15000 watt surge gasoline generator plugged up to my Shoreline?

You can definitely replace your current Carrier system with the Advent Air Rooftop RV Air Conditioner # ACM150 as long as you use the Adapter # ACCARKIT.

This unit has a running amp draw of about 15 amps but the startup amp draw is about 45 amps. You will need a different fuse and breaker but you need to make sure that it is safe to do so. I recommend having a professional electrician look at your setup so that nothing burns down.

If you install the Start Capacitor # ACMSCKIT as well you actually won't have as high of an amp draw upon startup since this stores electricity and uses it to start the AC unit when there is low amounts of power available. You will be able to use this AC unit with your 30 amp system if you use this start capacitor.
