It is best to select a 5th wheel hitch (and tow vehicle too, for that matter) that offers a higher towing capacity than what you actually need for your specific trailer's GVWR. This extra capacity becomes safety margin and also using a hitch below its maximum rating often means it will operate better and last longer than one that has been used right at its limit.
The right hitch depends on your trailer GVWR and your bed length; 8-foot long bed trucks can use a fixed hitch like Reese # RP30047 while a 6-1/2-foot bed will need a slider hitch like # RP30051 to give you enough turning clearance. Both hitches can install with custom install kit # RP50064-58 and both can use a wiring harness like # 50-97-410. If you have a very short 5-1/2-foot bed you will need a Sidewinder pivoting pin box on the trailer and you can use a fixed hitch with it. I linked an article on Sidewinders.
Please tell me the GVWR of your trailer and the bed length of your truck and I will be glad to make specific recommendations. I also suggest checking the owner's manual for your truck to confirm its towing capacity.
