Why Do Thule Lock Core Kits Cost More than Individual Locks

Question:

I just got my first Thule bike rack roof proride, and will potentially add a couple more. I saw that Thule makes cylinder locks but also came across these which are a bit cheaper. Is there any real difference with these. If I buy two now, but later add more racks and need more locks, will there be key compatability?

We sell kits that have lock cores for you to add to a Thule accessory like the part # TH450200 which costs more than just a single lock core like part # THLOCKN022 since this kit comes with 2 cores, two keys, and a change key. You'd have to piece all of those components together with the # THLOCKN022 since you have to have them all to use and install the lock core though which wouldn't save you any money.
