Recommended Lug Nut Specs for 1/2 Inch Studs and 13 Inch Aluminum Wheels
Question:
I replaced steel 13inch wheels with the Aluminum Hi-Spec Series S5 Trailer Wheel - 13" x 5" Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 - Silver # AM22323HWT. My manual says to tighten the steel wheel lug nuts on 1/2inch studs to 70 ft/lbs, would it be the same for the aluminum wheels?

The lug nut torque on aluminum wheels is normally not the same as you get to larger wheels, but on 13 inch wheels they will be the same. Most specs say to torque 1/2 inch nuts on 13 inch wheels to 75-85 lbs. My recommendation is to torque the lugs on your wheels # AM22323HWT to 75 foot lbs.
